Biography

Yan Hong: Chief Physician in the Department of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, West China Second University Hospital, Sichuan University. He formerly served as Director of the Department of Plastic Surgery, Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University, and as Professor at the Burn Research Institute, Southwest Hospital, Army Medical University. He has completed projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, major projects of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and military directed research projects under the “10th Five-Year Plan” through the “12th Five-Year Plan”. He has received one First Prize and two Second Prizes for Military Science and Technology Progress, and one First Prize for Chongqing Science and Technology Progress. He has published more than 60 clinical and basic research papers, including more than 20 in SCI-indexed journals (cumulative impact factor >40); he holds 1 national invention patent and has served as chief editor or contributing editor for 4 monographs.

Clinical Expertise: scar reconstruction, aesthetic skin treatments and treatment of cutaneous pigmentary disorders, lipoplasty and body contouring, microsurgical repair and reconstruction of intractable wounds, comprehensive treatment and microsurgical repair of lymphedema, and organ reconstruction. He also has considerable expertise in the correction of other deformities, common cosmetic
surgery, postoperative repair following cosmetic and plastic surgery, anti-aging treatment, and other areas.
